Yay alternating grip! You'll be lifting barefoot next ;)
(actually, I just need to get some WL shoes for myself)
It feels really weird when you alternate your alternating grip - usually my weak hand (left) is reversed, but sometimes I'll reverse my strong hand (right) instead and I don't seem to lift as well.

How interesting. I ordered that book online and am waiting to get it in the mail. I would love to talk to you more about your experience next time I see you. It's funny because if I think about it - I can't think of anyone I know that doesn't have a really 'clean' diet (and is not at optimal weight) that enjoys exercising - they all see it as a chore. I never tire of listening to people about food and their relationship to it. I just recently discovered your blog and enjoyed reading your posts! I appreciate your drive and passion. Hope to see you soon :)

ewww I hate presses, I'm working on those and dead hangs from now on after my lifting sessions!
Fran do you know if anyone at the gym is competing at the Bad Mother Open on July 19th? I thought Allison was going to, but I'm not sure if she still is. If you guys aren't doing anything, you should come! It should be fun.
Hope all is well; I just got back from Hawaii, and it was fantastic! Although I did have a little medical mishap ... but it was still awesome!

It is amazing how much chest muscle power is used on a bike. You can work out your chest and arms especially well if you concentrate on not locking out your elbows. If your arms are bent a little bit, you will flex your chest and abs to keep your back straight and in good posture. I bike a lot and that has helped me with my core.

Jan Todd deadlifted 415 pounds for reps on the Tonight Show with Carson in the 70s. She wasn't anywhere near 60 years old though...
(This is mentioned in the book Muscletown USA: http://www.aasgaardco.com/store/store.php?crn=199)

I just started Crossfit a week ago and can totally relate to your post. I tried crossfit.com's filthy fifty on Sunday and had a really hard time finishing the last few exercises - nothing wanted to work anymore, but somehow I pushed through anyway. You're inspiring!
